GCW Zafarul Haq Road observes Civil Defence Day

Rawalpindi: The Civil Defence Department, Rawalpindi, organised a two-day programme on the occasion of International Defence Day at Government Degree College for Women, Zafarul Haq Road, says a press release.
A speech contest on the topic of ‘Importance of Civil Defence in Current Times’ was held in which students of the college participated enthusiastically. A seminar was also held in which speakers included lecturers, professors of Rawalpindi colleges.
Director of Education (Colleges) Rawalpindi Professor Humayun Iqbal made keynote speech. The district education officer, deputy district officer of the Civil Defence, Rawalpindi, and others spoke on the occasion. They stressed on the need for spreading awareness about the importance of civil defence and the particular role women could play in that. They also spoke about measures that should be taken in an emergency. The consensus was that taking active part in civil defence is a great service to humanity.
