Rush hour
I would like to make an appeal to the Pakistan Goods Transport Association to request its members to restrict using the Islamabad Expressway during the morning and evening rush hour. The choke point on the expressway is just after Gulberg Green where the five-lane highway reduces into a two-lane highway because of the bridge. Both trucks and small vehicles are forced to crawl at a speed of one to three km/hour due to the congestion.
Because of the constant stop and go traffic, the drivers are forced to use the clutch pedal repeatedly causing premature wear to the clutch and costly replacement. Users of small vehicles would be grateful, if truck drivers decide to stay off the Islamabad Expressway during the morning and evening peak hours.
