Supplementary reference filed against Sharifs
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday filed a supplementary reference against the former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, his children and son-in-law in the Avenfield London apartments corruption reference. As per NAB, the reference was filed after receiving response from the foreign jurisdiction regarding which the joint investigation team (JIT) had done somecorrespondence seeking mutual legal assistance. Filed with the accountability court (AC) registrar, the supplementary reference has mentioned Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz, sons Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retired) Muhammad Safdar as the accused. Before the reference is fixed for hearing, the AC registrar would do scrutiny in this matter. In this reference NAB has listed seven new witnesses, including the JIT head Wajid Zia, a forensic expert based in the UK Robert W Radley, two officials of the ministry of information, and one another foreigner against the Sharif family. The NAB has also made TV interviews of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz as evidence as part of the reference.
