LAHORE: Commenting on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s appearance before a NAB investigation team on Monday, PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi said the Sharifs called it accountability when their opponents were questioned but immediately started crying foul and called it revenge when they were themselves held accountable.

Moonis Elahi dubbed Sharifs as a mixture of uncanny contradictions, who were constantly besmearing institutions to hide their own misdeeds. He said NAB had summoned Shahbaz in connection with the multi-billion rupees ‘heist’ in Ashiyana Housing Scheme.

He said NAB was investigating the self-styled Khadim-e-Ala's role in award of illegal construction contract of Ashiyana-e-Iqbal to M/S Lahore Casa Developers a proxy company of Railways Minister Kh Saad Rafique after ordering cancellation of contract to the successful bidder M/S Ch Latif & Sons that resulted into a cumulative loss of Rs 905 million to the exchequer.

He said NAB was also probing the award of consultancy services of Ashiyana-e-Iqbal project to M/S Engineering Consultancy Services for Rs 192 million whereas actual cost as quoted by Nespak was only Rs 35 million.

Shahbaz had not been summoned by NAB over a cup of tea to give him a clean chit but to question him over his alleged corruption, Moonis Elahi said.
