Rich tribute paid to Shah over sports promotion

LAHORE: The top brass of Pakistan sports on Sunday paid rich tributes to leading sports organiser and president Pakistan Federation Baseball Khawar Shah during the reference and ‘Dua’ arranged by Bahria Town sports committee for the deceased who breathed his last the other day. Khawar Shah was also head of Bahria Town Sports Committee. Prominent among those who paid tributes to Shah were Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) President Lt Gen (retd) Syed Arif Hasan, Secretary POA Khalid Mahmood. PBF Chairman Shauikat Javed, Chairman Pakistan Volleyball Federation Chaudhry Muhammd Yaqood Sardar Naveed. They all appreciated late Sghah’s services towards sports in general and baseball in particular. “It is with lot of grief and sadness that we today mourn the sad demise of Syed Khawar Shah. He was a towering and dedicated personality of sports in Pakistan who rendered meritorious services while in Government Service also as office bearer of various Sports bodies. His latest assignment was as President of Pakistan Federation Baseball where he was responsible to lift the game to Asian Standards in a few years,” were the views of the participants. Those present condoled with Khawar’s Shah’s son Syed Fakhar Shah and Khawar’s younger brother Syed Manzar Shah.
