Govt to redress issues of sugarcane growers: Sana

FAISALABAD: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that the Punjab rural roads programme is a revolutionary step of the Punjab government.

He said this while laying the foundation stone of the construction of two roads at Satiana Adda under the Annual Development Programme here on Sunday.

He said that under the rural roads programme, durable and carpeted roads were being constructed in the rural areas of the province. He said that the Punjab government had given equal attention on the development of rural areas.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said that a number of uplift projects, including construction of roads, were being completed in the rural areas to facilitate the people.

He said that 25km Satiana-Jaranwala Road would be completed at a cost of Rs 42 million while 24km Satiana-Jhumra Road would be completed at a cost of Rs 50 million.

The first phase of the roads would be completed by March 31, he told. The Punjab law minister said that a wide network of beautiful and durable roads had been completed in the province to accelerate the socio-economic development. Rana Sanaullah Khan said that several villages would get benefit from these roads besides the transportation facility.

He informed that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had approved Rs 300 million funds for the construction of Jaranwala-Khurrianwala Road and the construction work would be started within next two weeks.

The minister said that a 200-bed state-of-the-art THQ Hospital would be constructed at Jaranwala.

He said that the Local Government system was delivering best services to the people.

He asked the Local Government representatives to supervise the construction work in their areas. He said that the Saaf Dehat Programme was started first time in the history of Pakistan and heaps of garbage in the rural areas was being removed.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said that the Punjab government would leave no stone unturned to redress the issues of sugarcane growers.

He informed that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would visit Jaranwala on January 27.

Earlier, MNA Ch Asim Nazir, MPAs Rana Shoaib Idrees, Rai Usman Kharral, District Council Chairman Ch Zahid Nazir and others also spoke on the occasion.
