KARACHI: Pakistan’s under-14 tennis team lost 1-2 to Yemen in its last match in the World Junior Tennis (Asia Oceania pre-qualifying round) in Kuching, Malaysia, on Monday.
Huzaifa Abdul Rehman thrashed Sami Alward 6-2, 6-0 in the first singles, but Maneea Almaqaleh defeated Muhammad Shoaib 4-6, 1-6 in the second singles match.
The duo of Huzaifa and Shoaib were beaten by the pair of Sharaf Ahmed and Maneea 6-7(2), 1-6 in the deciding doubles match.
Pakistan lost to Syria in the quarter-finals of this championship. Pakistan played 12 matches and won five.
