Only the names will change
The unjust killing of Naqeeb Mehsud in a staged encounter has angered the people of Pakistan. The man’s family has rejected the authorities’ claim that Naqeeb was involved in terrorist activities and was a member of the Pakistan Taliban. The family of Naqeeb has asserted that the man, who was a father of three children, was an aspiring male model. He migrated to Karachi from South Waziristan and worked in a garment mill.
That modelling was his passion can be verified by his Facebook page where he had tens of thousands of followers. It is hoped that justice will be served to Naqeeb’s family. The culture of suspects being killed in police encounter is something that must be brought down. We deserve to live in a country where innocents are not punished for the crime they never committed.
