Justice denied
January 21, 2018
Zia Ahmed Awan, the founder of the Madadgar National Helpline 1098, has filed a petition in the SC to hold all government departments accountable for failing to stop violence against children. The step was taken after a person accused of raping and murdering a minor girl in 2010 was acquitted of all charges and set free.
It seems that our country has a lot to do if it wants to eradicate the menace of child sexual abuse. If exemplary punishments are awarded to criminals in a timely manner, the number of such crimes can be reduced.
