LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore, on Wednesday distributed cheques for more than Rs119 million among 450 affectees of housing scheme scam. The cheques were distributed among the affectees by NAB Lahore Director General Shahzad Saleem. According to a press release, addressing the participants, the DG said that after conducting the investigations, the Bureau had filed a corruption reference in 2014, whereas, the amount recovery was made through plea bargain in 2016. The second installment of the total amount, 33 percent, was received and handed over to the affectees on Wednesday. The NAB Lahore DG said NAB had so far recovered approximately Rs 50 billion within the last four years which was being returned to the government, semi-government, private departments and general public.
