It was good to know that the Punjab Food Authority has banned Chinese salt, also known as Ajinomoto, across the province after the authority’s scientific panel find out the hazardous effects of salt on the health of the people.
The panel found out that the salt contains Monosodium glutamate (MSG) which is a harmful chemical and known to cause health problems like headache, heart diseases and other mental and physical illness. According to the PFA, the usage of salt also contributes to problems related to blood pressure and is extremely harmful for pregnant women.
