Three irrigation schemes approved
LAHORE: The Punjab government Tuesday approved three development schemes of the irrigation sector at an estimated cost of Rs 3.61 billion.
The schemes were approved in the 45th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of the current fiscal. The schemes are: Rehabilitation of Main Branch Lower from Head to Tail RD:271+000 to 459+000, Kasur, at a cost of Rs 873.240 million; Channelisation of Deg Diversion Channel RD 0+000-87+300, Sheikhupura, at a cost of Rs 2196.827 million, and Protection of Public Infrastructure in the Vicinity of Mouza Monger, Tehsil Karor Lal Essan, Layyah, at a cost of Rs 547.405 million.
New LGH MS: Every patient coming to the hospital would be VIP and attendance would be monitored in all three shifts, said Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Mehmud Salahuddin after taking charge as 47th head of the hospital.
According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, he said strict discipline and more efficiency would be ensured and as per the policy of the Punjab government more and more medical facilities would be provided to the hospital.
He said that every efficient, disciplined and professionally capable person would be his team member. Earlier on his arrival office-bearers of Paramedical Staff Association of Lahore General Hospital gave a warm welcome to Dr Mehmud Salahuddin.
