PTDC to mark 138th year of Flashman’s Hotel
Islamabad: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is organising events for the successful completion of 138 years of establishment of its Flashman’s Hotel, Rawalpindi. PTDC Managing Director Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan told media that the 138th anniversary of the Flashman’s Hotel will be held on January 28 and 29.
On the first day of celebrations, the heirs of the martyrs will be invited and Memorial Shields will be presented to them. Flashman’s hotel will be decorated on the pattern of Mughal style and the arrival of guests in celebrations will be on buggies and elephants, while stalls will also be displayed where the replicas of Hir Ranjha and other folk tales will perform. Laser Light Show will also be arranged on this occasion. On the second day of the celebration, the musical and dinner will be arranged.
It is not out of place to mention here that on January 29, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) workshop will also be held, whose participants will attend these anniversary celebrations.
PTDC Managing Director, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan said that PTDC is making all possible measures for the promotion of tourism in the country. As a step, Islamabad City Tour Bus Service has been launched last week. Due to restoration of peace, the number of tourists has increased significantly.
Meeting with foreign ambassadors, participation in tourism workshop and conferences abroad, and promotion of tourism of Pakistan, coverage in the media and many other factors have resulted in a positive impact on the tourism sector of the country, which will show long-lasting results in the coming days.
As a result of these measures, Pakistan has been quoted as a top country for adventure sports and according to the report of the British Bag Packers Society, 2018 is very important in which Pakistan has been ranked in the first 20 best countries for tourism.
Director of the event company FMG Global Director Air Vice Marshal (r) Faisal Tariq presented a presentation on the event to effectively organize the event, which highlighted all the aspects. Zafar Babar briefed on various events to be included in these celebrations.
