MANSEHRA: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Salahuddin Khan Mehsud has sought a report about the alleged killing of a girl student by her brother in Pulrah village the other day.
“The IGP has taken notice of this incident wherein a brother killed his sister. The police have arrested him,” Inspector Jamal Zeb, spokesperson for police, told reporters on Sunday.
It may be recalled that the body of the Neelum Bibi was found hanging with the ceiling of a room adjacent to the cattle pen of her residence in Khel village on Friday night.
Jamal Zeb said that father of the girl, Mohammad Rafique, had stated in the first information report lodged at the Pulrah Police Station that she committed suicide by hanging herself.
“The medial report has confirmed that she was strangulated. When we interrogated the family members they confessed that she was killed by her brother Amir Shah,” Jamal Zeb said.
He said that according to preliminary investigation, the suspect told the police that the victim used to quarrel with his wife.
The official said that the medical report and other evidence about the case had been shared with the IGP.
