CJP takes notice of production of substandard packaged milk in Sindh

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has take notice of the deficiencies in the production, processing and packing of different brands of packaged milk in Sindh.

The court on Thursday directed the Sindh advocate general, chief secretary and food secretary as well as representatives of the Popular Group of Industries and Mehran Bottlers to appear on January 13 at the Karachi SC registry with their respective reports.

The chief justice also sought reports from the relevant authorities regarding the blockade of public thoroughfares and roads for the movement of VVIPs. The court directed the advocate general, chief secretary, home secretary and IG Sindh to appear before the court and file their respective reports on January 13.

Moreover, Chief Justice Nisar will also chair a meeting on judicial reforms at the all Pakistan Chief Justices Conference at the SC Karachi Registry on January 13. The meeting will examine and take stock of the overall performance of the judicial system, especially in terms of delays. The conference will also deliberate on different ways and strategies to bring reforms, innovation and improvements to streamline the smooth functioning of the country’s judicial system.

The forum will also deliberate on the different aspects to make the Law & Justice Commission an effective body to lead the reforms of law and justice institutions to be fair and inclusive as well as to strengthen the organisational capacities and accountability to be effectively responsive to citizens’ security and justice needs and wellbeing.
