Ahmed Shehzad recalled for New Zealand T20s

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday named a 15-member for the T20 series against New Zealand. The team includes Ahmed Shehzad, who was dropped for the five-match ODI series in New Zealand.

The national selection committee, headed by Inzamamul Haq, after consultation with Captain Sarfraz Ahmed and head coach Mickey Arthur, announced T-20 squad for three-match T-20I series against New Zealand. The T-20I series will commence from January 22 and will conclude on January 28, 2018. “Imad Wasim was yet to recover from his knee injury, and was told to continue his rehabilitation at the NCA. Mohammad Nawaz has been named to replace Imad Wasim. Sohaib Maqsood was not considered for selection due to back injury, and will undergo rehabilitation at the NCA”, said Inzamam The squad comprises Umar Amin, Harris Sohail and Amir Yamin. The side will be captained by wicket-keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed.

Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Ahmed Shehzad, Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez have been selected to represent the green shirts and strengthen their batting line-up. Shadab Khan is the only spinner in the squad. In the fast-bowling department, PCB included Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf and Rumman Raees. Shadab Khan is the only spinner in the squad.
