The enemy within

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has returned from Saudi Arabia amid speculations among opportunists and opponents that something might happen and give them an excuse to call for a wrap-up of the present regime and demand early elections before the Senate polls. However, Nawaz’s press conference at the Punjab House has revealed something entirely different. He is now inching closer to his revelations, which he has been hinting at from time to time. If these claims are valid, we are heading towards a disaster.

Ironically we tend to conceal the facts from the people. A vast number of reports were not made public. The reports on the Hamoodur Rahman Commission to that of the Abbottabad Commission have not been released so far. All governments have kept people in the dark. The main defaulters are the politicians themselves who cannot gather the courage to keep people informed. Had Nawaz been in power, he would have never disclosed what he said during his press conference. Unfortunately, we are in no mood to learn anything from history as we keep repeating our blunders. We do not require any Trump as we have many Trumps present within our fold to destroy us.
