Atletico Club to tour Pakistan
LAHORE: One of the top football clubs of the world, Atlético will tour Pakistan to play a couple of match here. In a joint press conference, Fahd Khan, Naqi Chaudhary and Umer Badiuz Zaman stated that grouping in Pakistan football for the last two years is damaging the sport and things exaggerated with ban on Pakistan. They stated that no Pakistan team is touring foreign countries to play and no team is touring Pakistan, then how the game could develop in the country. They said that keeping in view the entire situation, they have formed a private company only to lure foreign team to visit Pakistan and play a couple of matches, which would also help revive football in Pakistan and also send soft image of the country the world over. The team will play three matches in its tour of Pakistan in April. Two matches will be played at Karachi and one at either Lahore or Multan. “We are in consultation with a marketing team and in May we plan to go to Uruguay,” they said. Afterwards, the national players will be selected through a talent hunt programme and a camp for their training will be established at Karachi. Later in their camp a 22 member team will be selected which will play home and away matches in South America.
