LAHORE: Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) has directed all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Distribution Companies (DISCOs) for installation of sanctioned and all pending new electricity connections specifically industrial and commercial without unnecessary delay.
The directions were issued by Musadik Ahmed Khan, Managing Director, Pepco to CEOs consequent upon the review meeting. In his letter addressed to chief executive officers, he had instructed that early installation of connections will avoid hassle to consumers and will save the opportunity cost due to loss of revenue to public exchequer. Pepco MD took serious view of the referral of certain cases to Ministry of Energy (Power Division) and Pepco. He said that all CEOs have the exclusive competent authority to take decisions without any limit of connection power/load in their respective companies / area of responsibility. He directed to facilitate the consumer at all levels. He also warned the CEOs of DISCOs that if the situation does not improve in subsequent monthly reviews, Pepco may consider referring the matter for investigation by NAB and FIA.
