Shahbaz flew to Saudi Arabia in Raheel’s aircraft: Aitzaz
LAHORE: PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan claimed on Monday that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif left for Saudi Arabia in retired Gen Raheel Sharif's plane, not of the royal family.
He opined that there was a conflict between Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz, adding that the former prime minister fearful of his brother’s meeting with senior Saudi officials. Talking to media, the PPP leader said Nawaz did not go to Saudi Arabia on the Kingdom's invitation.
“Shahbaz must have called him, and told him he was meeting senior [Saudi] officials. So Nawaz panicked and travelled to Saudi Arabia,” he claimed. Shahbaz wants to become prime minister, but voters were with Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz, he added.
Commenting on PPP’s participation in Dr Tahirul Qadri-led APC, Aitzaz said his party did not enter into a political alliance with PAT and attended the moot ONLY to express solidarity with the Model Town incident victims.
