National Press Club election schedule announced
Islamabad : Elections for the offices of the National Press Club, Islamabad, for the year 2018, will
be held on January 13,
2018, the Election Committee announced, says a press release.
The Election Committee headed by Nasir Zaidi finalised the schedule at a meeting held at the National Press Club on Saturday.
According to the schedule, nomination papers will be received from December 31 to January 3 from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. Scrutiny and initial list of candidates will be
displayed on January 4 (8 p.m.). Examination of papers of the candidates will be held on January 5 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Objections on nomination papers will be received on January 5 from 8.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. Hearing on objections will be held on January 6 from 4 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. Provisional list of candidates will be displayed on January 6 at 10 p.m.
Withdrawal of nomination papers will be allowed on January 7 maximum by 10.00 p.m. The final list of candidates will be announced on January 7 at 11 p.m. Polling will be held on January 13, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
For the posts of president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary and finance secretary non-refundable election fee of Rs500 for each while for the Governing Body Rs200 for each is required to be deposited along with the nomination papers.
