Corridor politics

A dispute is raging between the government and the opposition on the planned route of the Pak-China Economic Corridor. The issue has turned into an inter-provincial rivalry. It seems that the government due to its ineptness is allowing the opposition to make an issue out of a non-issue.
The corridor is a vital national project which is not only going to turn the country’s economy around but will also strengthen our bilateral and strategic relations with China. Let it not fall prey to inter-provincial rivalries like other projects in the past. The government must take all political parties and provinces into confidence and evolve a consensual route for the corridor that is beneficial to all the federating units.
