Paramedics postpone token strike after talks
PESHAWAR: The paramedics on Wednesday postponed the token strike after meaningful talks with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secretary health.
President Paramedical Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Roidad Shah said that the secretary health met the office-bearers of the association to discuss their demands.
He said other office-bearers of the paramedics association, presidents, general secretaries of district Mardan chapter, Lady Reading Hospital, Khyber Teaching Hospital, Hayatabad Medical Complex and president of class-IV association were present in the meeting.
He said the president of All Pakistan Paramedical Staff Federation Sharfatullah Yousafzai had been invited to the meeting.
The paramedics presented charter of demands to the health secretary and he assured to solve the problems.
He said Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had directed the secretary health to hold a meeting with the paramedics and listen to their demands.
The office-bearer said the secretary health also assured them to arrange a meeting with the chief minister and their demands would be considered properly.
He said the association on the assurance of the secretary health postponed the strike to January 3. The general body meetings of the association fixed for December 28 would be held accordingly.
