Vigil for church attack victims
LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab leadership on Friday observed a candlelight vigil at Faisal Chowk, The Mall, for the victims of a church attack in Quetta.
The candlelight vigil was attended by PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid, former Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry and others. The speakers on the occasion expressed concern over the terrorist incidents in the country and demanded implementation of the National Action Plan in letter and spirit. They also expressed complete solidarity with the Christian community and other minorities of the country.
Accountability: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf central leader Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said the process of accountability should continue till the arrest of last corrupt person in the country.
Addressing a gathering of PTI workers on Friday, he said, “We assure people that Imran Khan will go to any extent to eradicate corruption in this country. Corrupt people shouldn't be granted pardon in any case.” The corrupt people should be apprehended and held accountable irrespective of their political affiliation to make the country corruption-free, he added.
Sarwar said that PTI was playing its role to strengthen democracy in the country. He added that people of Pakistan wanted accountability of corrupt people sitting in different political parties.
Plot retrieved: With the intervention of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC), Punjab, an expatriate Pakistani got possession of his plot worth Rs5 million in a housing scheme. Commissioner of OPC, Afzaal Bhatti, informed that Iftikhar Hassan settled in Nottingham, UK, filed a complaint that he purchased a plot in a private housing scheme of Lahore five years ago and paid all installments. The housing scheme administration had promised that plot would be handed over to him within three years, but even after passing five years, he was yet to receive the plot.
Afzaal Bhatti told that OPC contacted the administration of the housing scheme and ensured the provision of plot to expatriate Pakistani. park: Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Khalil Tahir Sandhu on Friday inaugurated a family park and distributed Christmas gifts among Christian workers at Sunder Industrial Estate. Sunder Industrial Estate Board President Muhammad Asif Ali Tipu, senior vice president, board members, MPA Shahzad Munshi and businessmen were present on the occasion.
