ETPB leases land toAQ Khan Hospital
LAHORE: Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Muhammad Siddiq-ul-Farooq on Thursday announced allotting a piece of land on lease for Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Hospital on Ravi Road.
According to a statement issued here Thursday, ETPB chairman announced this in a meeting with renowned Pakistani scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan. Siddiq-ul-Farooq said an MoU has also been signed with renowned scientist.
He said services rendered by Dr Abdul Qadeer are matchless and the ETPB would support this noble project of establishment of a hospital after his name. training session: Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) on Thursday held the first session on minimum service delivery standards (MSDS) as part of its comprehensive training programme for hakeems.
According to a press release, the session was aimed to train hakeems for better patient-care and on treatment methods, provision of medicines, rights of patients, infection control, administrative matters, human resource and usage of the information technology. The aim was also to improve the tibb treatment by implementing the MSDS, which was developed recently for matabs. The training was attended by 24 hakeems.
Clinical Governance and Organisational Standards Director Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Salariya highlighted the importance of training for hakeems. Commission Chief Operating Officer Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan said the training was to improve quality of the tibb on the patterns of allopathic and homeopathic treatments.
“The PHC is the first independent organisation to improve health services in all fields. To meet this goal, the commission is providing training to all health service providers and healthcare establishments, both public and private, on the MSDS,” Ajmal said.
hydropower moot: Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Engineering (CEWRE) University of Engineering and Technology organised an international conference on “Hydropower, A vital source of sustainable energy for Pakistan” here on Thursday.
National and International scholars including Prof Dr Qamar-ul-Zaman of UTP Malaysia, Engr Tariq Altaf, Vice-President Nespak, Prof Dr Abdul-Sattar Shakir and others participated in the conference. International speakers talked about risk, sensitivity analysis, and physical modelling to control sourcing under natural flow conditions.
UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said in his welcome address, “the symposium was one of the biggest events on power sector in Pakistan in the history of CEWRE UET”. He praised CEWRE on organising symposium where intellectuals from all over the world gathered to share their knowledge and views with the students.
