LHC CJ asks lawyers to contribute to reforms

LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has urged the members of Society of Barristers to play their effective role in ongoing reforms in the LHC and district courts.

Addressing a ceremony organised by society at a local hotel, the CJ also urged the female barristers to pay visits to the district courts and meet female judges to know the ground realities. He asked the barristers to come to Punjab Judicial Academy to deliver lectures.

The LHC CJ also apprised the members of the Society of Barrister about the activities during his recent visit to England and a ceremony held in Lincoln Inn of inclusion of him in Society of Lincoln Inn as Honorary Master of the Bench.

The event at the local hotel was held to celebrate the inclusion of the Lahore High Court chief justice in Society of Lincoln Inn as Honorary Master of Bench and installation of bust of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Library of Inn.

A question and answer session was held in which the chief justice and other judges while answering questions of participants spoke at length about IT Enterprise System and Case Management System in LHC, large pendency of cases in district courts, shortage of judges, use of ADRs and infrastructure of district courts.

Later, Justice Yawar Ali said that the chief justice deserved the honour.

Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan, Justice Shahid Karim, Justice Abid Aziz Shiekh, Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhary and Justice Jawad Hassan were also present.
