Yao formally appointed envoy to Pakistan
BEIJING: President Xi Jinping formally appointed a seasoned diplomat Yao Jing as Chinese ambassador to Pakistan.
The appointment was made upon approval from the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, according to a statement by the national legislature.
Yao Jing will soon present his diplomatic credentials to President of Pakistan in Islamabad.
While speaking at a media forum here early last month, he said, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a major priority for Chinese leadership, and he would put his best efforts to get it implemented in a letter and spirit.
He said he was looking forward to make his contribution in making the CPEC a best symbol of Sino-Pak long-standing cooperative partnership.
Yao Jing who was posted in Pakistan for the third time, said he had emotional attachment with the People of Pakistan and wished to serve them through all possible means.
“It was his proud to be in Pakistan, since the people of this country have always been very close to his heart,” he remarked.
