Adulterated milk destroyed
MANSEHRA: The officials destroyed a huge quantity of adulterated and unhygienic milk and arrested six shopkeepers here on Saturday.
“The operation against sale of unhygienic milk has been launched from Mansehra city and it would continue throughout the district,” Abdul Rehman, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rehman told reporters.
It happened for the first time in the district’s history that the officials of livestock and veterinary development department, equipped with a mobile milk testing laboratory, took part in the surprised raids.
“After detecting adulteration in milk through the mobile laboratory, we destroyed the milk in a huge quantity, arrested six owners of milkshops and fined eight others,” the assistant commissioner said.
He added that the district administration had been receiving complaints regarding sale of adulterated milk in the city and its suburbs.
