100 beds added to Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences

LAHORE : Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Principal Prof Dr Ghias-un-Nabi Tayyab said 100 beds have been added to Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS), Lahore General Hospital (LGH) which would make overall 500 beds available to the patients.

According to a handout, he said this on Saturday while addressing the concluding ceremony of Review Course of Orthopedic Department of LGH. He said it was being assured that every patient get a bed and no one would be treated at stretcher.

He said accidental and head injury patients from across the Punjab were brought to LGH. PINS and Ortho Department are equally important in this context. He appreciated the holding of Review Course for Orthopedic for FCPS and MS doctors which would provide an opportunity to the juniors to get benefit from the seniors.

He said the Review Course was a unique opportunity for young Ortho Doctors to get education on bone treatment keeping in view the latest research. He lauded the efforts of Prof Dr Irfan Mehboob and Prof Mian Muhammad Hanif for their academic activities in Orthopedic.

Other speakers delivered lectures on the importance of training. Demonstration was made on different topics while a question, answer session was held at the end of the training session.

Christmas celebrations: Punjab University’s Christian staff organised a cake-cutting ceremony in connection with the celebrations of Christmas here on Saturday. The participants prayed for the prosperity and peace in the country.
