Rawalpindi : The 3rd anniversary of the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar massacre was commemorated in different government and private educational institutions as well as different organisations to remember those who lost their lives in the callous terrorist attack.
Special prayers were offered for the martyrs and ‘Quran Khwani’ was also held at mosques and homes after Fajar prayer here on Saturday.
Special prayers were also held here in Rawalpindi District Bar Association (RDBA). Special prayers and ‘Quran Khwani’ for APS Peshawar massacre was also held in majority of government and private offices.
On Dec 16, 2014 terrorists stormed the school and martyred around 150 students and teachers. The security forces swiftly responded to the attack and killed all the terrorists.
Different ceremonies have organised like tribute ceremony of special children, drama, ladies ‘mehfil-e-mushaira’, poster competition and tableau competition.
The Saint Mary’s Academy prepared a special stage drama in memory of APS Peshawar massacre. The audience strongly appreciated this stage drama.
Some other activities also arranged to pay tribute to martyrs of APS Peshawar held in Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) to attract visitors.
Photographs of martyrs of APS Peshawar were displayed at different areas of garrison city to pay rich tribute to the martyrs.
The children of different schools paid tribute to martyrs by singing national songs. Executive District Officer (EDO) Education Qazi Zahoor-ul-Haq said that Pakistanis will defeat ignorance and terrorism through education. He added the sacrifices of the APS martyrs will be remembered forever.
