Passerby killed, five injured in Gojra firing

TOBA TEK SINGH: A passerby woman was killed while fiver others sustained injuries over enmity at Gojra on Friday.

The groups of Ejaz Jajji and Sibtain Ashiq had an old enmity. On the day of the incident, when Sibtain along with his relative Shahbaz Ahmad was on his way to Gojra to appear before a court in a case when accused Ejaz Jajji and his two accomplices allegedly opened fire at their car near a hockey stadium. As a result, Ejaz and Shahbaz sustained injuries while bullets also hit four women who were traveling by a rickshaw, injuring Hamidan Bibi of Green Town, Azra, Memona and Sarwari, on the spot.

All injured were rushed to the THQ Hospital Gojra where Hamidan Bibi succumbed to her injuries.

2 DEAD IN ACCIDENTS: Two people were killed in separate road accidents here on Friday. Irshad Bibi was on her way on her donkey-cart when a tractor-trolley hit her at Chak 358/JB, Dullam. As a result, she died instantly. In another incident, Muhammad Shafi of Chak 93/JB was on his way when a car hit his bike at Chak 363/JB, killing him on the spot.
