LAHORE:"No matter how cultured, developed and modern a society may become, but it can never become a civilised and completely human society without moral values and ethics", this is the basic message of the drawings, created and being displayed by Meher Afroz, a renowned artist from Karachi, in a solo exhibition titled "Aap Biti", inaugurated at Rohtas-2 Art Gallery on Friday.
The exhibition is about the journey of Meher Afroz as a child through the mess and agonising river of blood at the time of partition in 1947. Its all about her feelings, the scars and memories left on her very sensitive soul by one of the biggest mass transition of humans from one piece of land to the other known as partition. Meher Afroz says, "the fabric of my life story is woven with the emotional transformations of the decades long journey as an artist. My challenges made me realise that the ingredients of inner peace are patience, perseverance and sound values. The current work presented in "Aap Biti" reflects my experiences. The show will continue till 30th December.
