FJA decides to improve working of judicial academies

ISLAMABAD: Meeting of the Federal Judicial Academy’s Board of Governors was held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar.

The meeting was attended by all the provincial chief justices, secretaries of the Ministry of Law and Justice and Ministry of Finance and the Federal Judicial Academy director general. Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa and Justice Umar Atta Bandial, Judges, Supreme Court, were invited on special request being members of the FJA’s administration committee.

Agenda of the meeting focused on the expansion of FJA’s vision and scope to the next level given the creation of provincial judicial academies. It was decided that being the mother judicial academy in Pakistan, the FJA must lead greater coordination as well as shared knowledge management and improved working of the academies.

It was emphasised that the FJA must, therefore, broaden its horizon and enhance its working to the level whereby, the judges of the superior judiciary could also get benefit from its existence. The Board directed the FJA DG to develop working papers and proposals in this regard so that these could be reviewed and discussed in near future. The Board also decided to hold frequent meetings to expedite the realisation of FJA’s revamping.
