LAHORE: A delegation of journalists from Germany, Iran, Afghanistan, India and other countries, led by Christian Zarm, president, DPV, German and Shams-ul-Haq, head of division international relationship, visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) here on Monday.
The delegation was briefed about software development and automation of various services for the citizens of the Punjab. At present, 25 plus services including birth, death, marriage, divorce, domicile certificates, business registration, driving licence, etc. were being provided to the citizens within a stipulated time with status tracking facility, the delegation was briefed.
The delegation was informed that the digital inclusion in law and order projects had shown a sharp decline in terrorism activities and improved law and order as most of the functions of Punjab police had been digitalized and data driven crime mapping had proved significantly helpful in prompt decision-making while Safe City Authority was closely working with Punjab police and all the respective systems were now interacting with each other, the delegation was informed.
