Irfan confident he can stage comeback

KARACHI: Left-arm pacer Muhammad Irfan is confident of making a comeback in the national team after he was suspended for six months for violating anti-corruption code during the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Talking to ‘The News’, he said that he has realised his mistake.“I am fully aware of these things and will be careful in future. I advise all players not to make the mistake which I did,” he said.
Irfan said that he had worked hard on his fitness and was all set to make a comeback. “I am fully fit,” he said. The fast bowler said that he was doing his best to attract the attention of the selectors. “What I can do is take wickets and I am doing that,” he stated.
He added that during the ban period he had done work to improve his performance. He said he had become stronger and was performing with consistency. He said that the ban did not make him weak and his performance in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was a proof of that.
He said he expected his team WAPDA to defend the title and that he wished to play a key role in it.Irfan rejected the criticism about the pitches and said that some pitches supported bowlers and some favoured batsmen.
The seven feet one inch tall Irfan said that he was excited about the third edition of the PSL and looking forward to play for the new franchise Multan Sultans“Multan is my home and representing Multan will be an honour for me,” he said. The left-armer played for Islamabad United in the first two editions of the PSL.He said that it was a great experience being with Islamabad United for two years.
