Team named for U19 World Cup

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) junior selection committee headed by Basit Ali named a new look team for the World Cup starting in New Zealand from January 13.
The likes of Mohammad Arif, Haider Ali Umair Yousaf, Hammad Khan and Asher Qureshi have been dropped. The reshuffling has been primarily made in the batting lineup following the disastrous show in the final against Afghanistan.Imran Shah, Emmad Alam and Ali Zaryab have been inducted in the team.
The Under-19 team will also feature in a three-match ODI series against Australia on December 27, 29 and 31, and later will travel to New Zealand to play two ODI matches on January 3 and January 5, respectively.
The training camp for the Under-19 team will be set up at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore from December 7 to December 20, and the team will depart for Australia on December 21.
Under-19 squad: Mohsin Khan, Imran Shah, Zaid Alam, Rohail Nazir (wk-vc), Muhammad Taha, Emmad Alam, Ali Zaryab, Saad Khan, Hassan Khan (captain), Musa Khan, Shaheen Shah, Munir Riaz, Arshad Iqbal, Muhammad Ali and Suleman Shafqat.Reserves: Muhammad Junaid, Haider Ali, Muhammad Ilyas, Azam Khan and Mukhtair Ahmed (wk).
