Islamabad: The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah, said on Monday that the personality who forced Javed Hashmi to leave the PML-N has now sidelined in the party.
“When Javed Hashmi was leaving the PML-N then I had asked him not to leave the party, but then he said to me that he made a decision after thinking a lot and now it could be said that it’s never late to mend,” he said when asked to comment on the return of seasoned politician Javed Hashmi’s return into the fold of PML-N, on Monday.
Talking to newsmen at his chamber at the Parliament House on Monday, opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah said when Javed Hashmi left the PML-N at that Javed Hashmi was senior leader in the party after Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif as he had also served as acting president of the PML-N in the absence of Nawaz Sharif.
He said Javed Hashmi has also served as a parliamentary leader of the PML-N in the National Assembly when Nawaz Sharif was in exile. But when he was in jail, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was given the charge of acting parliamentary leader and conspiracies were hatched against Javed Hashmi in the PML-N, and he suffered a stroke due to it. “However, it was a saying that “It’s never late to mend,” he said.
To a question, the opposition leader said that he thinks that it will take time to Javed Hashmi to make his place in the PML-N. In reply to another question about the fate of cases against Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen, he said Nawaz Sharif was now disqualified, and there should be confidence in the apex court to do justice in the cases against Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen. “We should have a confidence in the apex court for Justice,” he remarked.
