The Office of Research Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC), Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), on Thursday organised a seminar on the promotion of the culture for patent filing and commercialisation of research.
The objective of the event was to highlight the importance of applied research and patent filing among university faculty members and researchers.
Professor Shahid Hameed, director at the ORIC, briefed participants about the functions and contribution of the ORIC for promotion of research culture on campus.
He urged the university faculty and research students for filing patents of novel research outcomes.
While addressing the faculty and researchers resource person, Engr. Zahoor Sarwar, deputy director (industry linkages) at the Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, said by motivating people towards business development and commercialisation of the technologies, the goal of the socioeconomic development of the country could be achieved.
