‘Mansehra govt committed to promoting girls education’

MANSEHRA: District Nazim Sardar Said Ghulam on Saturday said the district government was committed to promoting girls education.
“We have the distinction of declaring 2016 as education year and interacted with parents to bring out-of-the-school children to schools,” the district nazim told the concluding ceremony of primary schools annul support gala in Oghi on Saturday.
District Education Officer (Female) Rehana Yasmin Abbasi also spoke on the occasion.
Said Ghulam said that the district councillors were given a special task to meet parents in the respective union councils to bring out-of-school children, particularly girls, to schools and check presence of teachers, which brought major changes in the system in the district.
“Because of the effective measures taken the district government the drop-out percentage is reduced and a large number of out-of-school children are enrolled in schools,” he added. Ghulam also announced Rs1 million for primary schoolteachers.
