Labourer killed, two injured in roof collapse

MULTAN: A labourer was killed while two others sustained injuries when the roof of an under-construction furniture factory collapsed at Timbre Market here on Thursday. According to Rescue 1122, labourers were busy working in the factory when its roof collapsed. As a result, M Sharif was killed on the spot while Ramzan and M Shakir were injured. They were shifted to the Nishtar Hospital. Police are investigating.
Irrigation Dept recovers over Rs30M water charges: The Irrigation Department has recovered over Rs 30 million water charges (Abiana) from farmers in four districts of Multan zone during the last Rabi season 2016/17. According to official sources, over Rs 3 million water charges (Abiana) were recovered from Multan, about Rs 3.1 million from Lodhran, over 16 million from Vehari and Rs 7.8 million from Pakpattan during the Rabi season. Meanwhile, over Rs 310,208 water charges (Tavan) were also recovered from four districts, including Rs 68,734 from Lodhran, Rs 56,069 from Vehari and over Rs 185,405 from Pakpattan, during the same period while no recovery from Multan district was reported.
