So far as hotspot checking is concerned, the district has grabbed first position in the province. The remarkable performance in the anti-dengue drive is the result of teamwork and strict monitoring of the officers concerned.
These views were expressed by Deputy Commissioner Sumair Ahmed Syed while reviewing the performance of dengue drive 2017. “The report discloses that as many as 12,403 complaints were reported by special branch, out of them 12,000 complaints have been solved until now. The DC revealed that hotspots like junkyards, graveyards, tyre shops, godowns and others had been checked and re-checked 170,92 times by anti-dengue teams and this checking was 95pc and it brought the city to top position across Punjab. “When confirmed yearly data is analysed, it shows that last year 931 confirmed patients were reported in the district which has reduced to only 69 this year and it is a remarkable success on the part of the district.
The maintenance and sustainability of success is subject to the consistency of outstanding working by dengue teams,” Sumair Ahmed said. The DC also disclosed that 79,944 larvae had also been eliminated during indoor surveillance and 4,173 in outdoor surveillance this year.
