PMDC, HEC join hands to revise medical curriculum

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has assured the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) of support and cooperation in revising medical and dental curriculum in the country to bring it on a par with international standards.
The assurance was given by HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmad to PMDC President Professor Masood Hameed during a visit to the PMDC main office in Islamabad for a meeting of the National Curriculum Review Committee to discuss changes in MBBS-BDS curriculum.
Later, Dr Mukhtar told reporters that the HEC-PMDC cooperation on curriculum revision would help improve professional capability of students enrolled at medical and dental colleges.
He said the HEC was ready to provide PMDC with every possible technical support for the revision of medical and dental curriculum, which was the need of the hour.
The HEC chairman appreciated the PMDC working and said it had done a lot to ensure good standards of medical and dental education in the country.
