Govt must accept demands of protesters: Mufti Muneeb
KARACHI: The protest at the Numaish Chowrangi to support Islamabad’s protest by the Tehreek-i-Labbaik entered its third day on Tuesday.
Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman, while addressing the people in a gathering , said the government must get on track and accept the demands of the Tehreek-i-Labbaik immediately.
He also paid tributes to those bearing the turbulent weather conditions in Islamabad for the last 15 days in order to preserve the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat act.
The government must remember that all the scholars of Pakistan are behind Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi; therefore, confrontation of any kind must be avoided because Pakistan cannot bear any form of confrontation at this juncture, he added.
The cleric said: “The government must understand the sensitivity of this issue. This problem has not descended from the skies. It is the result of government’s own actions. Let’s not forget that there was a 126-day protest in Islamabad for political reasons in the past. No one was bothered about it at all. When a protest has been arranged to protect the Finality of Prophethood act, then there is a sudden uproar. Were the people not disturbed during the 126-day protest? The government should, therefore, understand the sensitivity of this issue and should resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
On this occasion, renowned cleric Mufti Muneeb was accompanied by Mufti Rafiqul Hasni, Prof Shah Fariduddin Qadri, Allama Mufti Ilyas Rizvi, Allama Rehan Amjadi Nomani, Allama Amir Akhlaque Shami, Allama Bilal Saleem Qadri, Mufti Mubarak Abbasi, Allama Razi Hussaini Naqshbandi, Allama Liaquat Hussain Azhari, Allama Ikram Saeedi, Mufti Abdullah Noorani, Allama Amir Akhlaque Shami, Mufti Qasim Fakhri and many other notable personalities. They all stood by the protesters in Islamabad.
