‘PTI not to forge alliance with banned outfits’

LAHORE :Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mian Mehmood-ul-Rasheed on Monday assured a US diplomat that PTI would not form electoral alliance with any banned outfit in the upcoming general elections.
The US diplomat called on the opposition leader at his chamber on Monday. Mian Mehmood said PTI was committed to take all steps aimed at protecting the human rights and improvement of the diplomatic affairs inside and outside the country.
He said PTI was struggling for strengthening democracy and institutions of the country and would never support any undemocratic act. He also said PTI never wanted confrontation with anyone but the solution of issues through dialogue.
food conference: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Central Punjab President Abdul Aleem Khan said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf would address the grievances of growers on priority basis and take all steps necessary to strengthen the agricultural sector.
He was addressing 'Food Security Conference' organised by PTI leader Jamshed Iqbal Cheema. Abdul Aleem Khan said the entire focus of the ruling party had been to mint commission through roads, bridges, orange train and metro buses. He said for the last 30 years, not a single major hospital in Lahore had been established to cater the needs of public.
He said the people living around the route of orange train were even combating for basic necessities of life whereas 80 per cent population of Lahore had no access to clean drinking water. He said like every sector, the PML-N government has ignored the agriculture and took no measures for the welfare of growers. However, he said with the help of an effective team, PTI under the leadership of Imran Khan would take all necessary measures to empower the farmers of Pakistan. He said that a stable and strong grower means stable and strong Pakistan.
PTI Central Punjab Vice President Jamshed Iqbal Cheema said that in order to meet the increasing need of food, it was necessary to strengthen the agricultural sector which was the backbone of our economy. By neglecting this sector, the government had put Pakistan in a miserable condition but PTI would solve the problems on priority basis after coming to power.
Jamshed Cheema said the current situation in this regard was alarming as 45 per cent minors were facing issues related with growth, 8 per cent children die every year due to malnutrition and 10 per cent were combating weight problems.
PA moved: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf MPA Shoaib Siddiqi submitted an adjournment motion in Punjab Assembly voicing concern over the lack of measures taken the provincial government to curb crimes of child abuse and child labour.
In the Adjournment motion submitted in the PA Secretariat, Shoaib Siddiqi stated due to lack of interest by the provincial government, neither the Child Protection Policy had been elaborated nor the data of child labour had been compiled so far.
He said November 20 was observed as ‘Global Children Day’ but the government had no mechanism to prevent incidents of child labour and child abuse though a body in the name of ‘Child Protection Bureau’ was working. Shoaib Siddiqi demanded immediate measures to be taken over the issue.
