PESHAWAR: The police and security forces personnel on Monday clashed with each other at Badaber town and it resulted in injuries to officials from both sides.
It was learnt that the police had stopped traffic to provide security to the students of Government Girls College in Badaber who were returning home after college hours. In the meanwhile, security forces personnel passing through the area were also stopped. This triggered a clash between the security forces personnel and police. Shots were also fired. There were reports that some policemen and security forces personnel were wounded in the clash.
Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Peshawar Sajjad Khan later told reporters that the matter between the two parties had been resolved amicably after a inquiry. He added that there were only minor injuries and the issue stood settled.
