Govt providing advanced health facilities to masses: Sana

FAISALABAD: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that the government is providing most advanced health facilities to the people at their doorstep.
He said this while inaugurating a six-bed state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU) established at the Neurosurgery Ward of the Allied Hospital. Faisalabad Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Al Fareed Zafar, Medical Superintendent Dr Khurram Altaf, Prof Dr Akmal Hussain, Prof Dr Safdar Hassan Sial, Dr Akram Cheema, Union Council chairman Mian Jamshed and others were also present. The Punjab minister inspected various sections of the unit to review the most advanced machinery installed at the unit. The minister said that the ICU was the first ever most advanced ICU in private and public sector of Pakistan which was established at a cost of Rs 65 million. Rana Sanaullah said that the treatment of serious head injury patient would be available at the ICU. He told that billions of rupees were being spent on the upgradation of health institutions and provision of latest machinery.
He said that the people of Faisalabad were being provided with expanded medical facilities and new hospitals were being established in different parts of the city besides upgradation of existing hospitals.
He said that after establishing the Faisalabad Medical University, regular VC was also appointed and due to this not only the quality of medical research would improve but the problems of this department would be resolved.
The FMU VC said that special attention was being given on the upgradation of operation theatres at the Allied and DHQ hospitals. He told that the experts of Italy had given their services for installing machinery at the ICU and this department had been completed within six months. He said that the ward could be expanded upto eight beds.
