KARACHI: Vital Five Cricket Club clinched the Zone-I Fazal Mahmood National Club Cricket Championship 2017, defeating Al-Noor Gymkhana by 65 runs in the summit clash here at the KCCA Stadium on Friday.
Batting first, Vital Five scored 235 all out in 48.3 overs. Akbar Baber (48) and Saad Alam (41) batted well. Ahmed Iqbal and Sanjay picked three wickets each.
In reply, Al-Noor Gymkhana were bundled out for only 170 in 43.4 overs. Mohammad Zubair made 48 and Ahmed Iqbal scored 42. Faheem Ahmed and Yasir Hussain took two wickets each.
Faheem, with 15 wickets, was declared the Best Bowler of the Tournament, while Hafiz Asad Baig, who scored 174 runs, received the Best Batsman of the Tournament award.
