PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday ordered freezing of properties of Afzal Khaliq alias Double Shah for allegedly cheating people and looting billions of rupees from them.
As per the NAB official statement, the NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa director general ordered freezing of properties of accused Afzal Khaliq alias Double Shah of the AK Forex Private Limited, Wah Cantt.
The accused in the garb of Islamic mode of financing called Mudariba/Musharika business allegedly cheated public at large and defrauded the people of billions of rupees.It said the affectees included the people from the remote areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to central Punjab.
The estimated cost of the properties is Rs1.5 billion.During the course of physical remand, it said, the accused revealed the properties were registered in the name of Afzal Khaliq and Muhammad Naveed Akhtar.
It included Edible Oil Extraction Limited, Company Bahawalpur spread over 120 kanal land; 31 kanal and 12 marla land in Rawalpindi and Taxila; 795 kanal and 1 marla land in Rajanpur in Punjab and 57 kanal and 14 marla land in Sialkot.Double Shah has been arrested and is presently incarcerated at the Peshawar Central Prison.
