Amar Cables clinch opener

LAHORE: The 19th National Veterans Cricket Championship got under way here at the Shah Faisal Cricket Ground on Thursday.
The event was inaugurated by Nawab Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, Chief Executive Pakistan veterans Cricket Association (PVCA). In the opening match of the event, reduced to 16 overs-a-side due to rain, Amar Cables outplayed Hajvery Sports by 6 wickets.
Scores: Hajvery Sports 112/7 after 16 over (Khawaja Imran 38, Zafar Hai Butt 21, Mian Munir 16, Amir Butt 18*, Munir Hussain 10*, Rehan Rauf 3/23). Amar Cables 113/4 after 14.1 overs(Ahmad Shahab 36, Saleem Elahi 20, Afzal Shah 35*, Afzal Ch 2/23).
