KARACHI: The Sindh Government posted an influential officer, who is allegedly involved in corruption of Rs59 million, at more important position than he held previously.
The officer along with another official allegedly withdrew Rs59 million through an account of a fake company, showing it as a contractor company of the Authority.
When the said fraud came into the notice of the higher authorities, both the officials deposited Rs40 million in the official account, but Rs1.9 million embezzled amount is still not deposited in the official account.
The Sindh Government transferred both the officers from their seats without mentioning their fraud and corruption and posted one of them on a higher post.
According to the Sindh Government laws, matter of this corruption should have been referred to Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment Department for further inquiry.
Two days back, the Services and General Administration Department issued notification of posting of the said official.
Despite many times calling and sending text messages to Secretary Services Mukhtar Soomro for official version, he did not attend his phone. Official spokesman of the Sindh Government and Minister of Information Sharjil Memon also avoided attending their phones.
